Considered by many to be the rarest and most desirable of the early 80” Series 1s, build No. 3 is a 1948 model and was one of the first 1500 cars built before the end of December in 1948. It was despatched out of the factory on 29th November 1948 to Faulls Motors, Perth, Australia. It arrived to us completely dismantled and in a very sorry state – but somehow the original engine had survived, along with many other rare components that go into making these first 1500 cars so difficult to restore. Now, resplendent in the correct early light green paint finish with its early specification silver painted chassis, build No. 3 sets the standard in early 1948 model restoration.
Since completion of our restoration the vehicle has won a national award for “Best Restoration” at the Land Rover Legends show in 2022. The car has been featured in Land Rover Monthly Click to View and Classic Land Rover Magazine Click to View.
