This very early 1951 model year car was despatched out of the Solihull factory on 14th August 1950 bound for Genville Motors, Syndey – Australia. The vehicle was originally sourced by us and sold into the Jaguar Land Rover Reborn program and was used extensively by JLR as a reference vehicle due to its exceptional levels of originality, it also appeared at numerous shows around Europe while being used as a promotional vehicle by JLR. We were approached by JLR to purchase the vehicle back from them and after finding a suitable customer who understood the originality and providence of the vehicle it was treated to a very extensive patina restoration. All steel parts were lacquered to preserve them in their current state, repairs were carried out to the bodywork were necessary – with these being carefully paint blended in to make them almost invisible. The result is a very usable, incredibly original and remarkable car that is a pleasure to drive.
