This early 1949 model was despatched out of the Solihull factory on 10th June 1949 bound for Grenville Motors – Australia. The vehicle was sourced by us for our customer who had challenged CKD Shop to find an early light green car, that was in its original paint and was as complete as possible - this was no mean feat as original, unmolested early 80” model are rare. The car we tracked down had spent most of its life on a remote sheep station and subsequently the level of preservation was fantastic – even retaining such details as the rare Grenville Motors dealership fitted badge on the front lefthand wing and the sign written owners name, station name and vehicle weights on the drivers wing. After complete disassembly – much careful evaluation and cleaning was necessary, followed by rebuilding and preserving of all of the original components. Then the whole vehicle was reassembled and recommissioned to the finished state it can be found in today.
